IPAAD Patent Database

Perception Partners originally developed this FileMaker Pro database for intellectual property research and patent portfolio mining. We were seeking a way to search and review our own annotations, as well as full-text patent records. The IPAAD Database was the outcome, which is a scalable, editable tool that encourages collaboration among patent analysts, licensing managers and technology assessment professionals. Permits organization and classification of patents by a number of subjective and objective criteria patent’s full content and image – all in a single location. Can be accessed by at least five simultaneous users, with role-based security down to the field level. Imports Delphion CSV records, but other filters can be built as needed.

Excel Patent Analytics / Tagger Add-In

This Excel-based tool is designed to import Delphion CSV files and parse the contents. The tool cleans the data, normalizes assignee names and permits tagging of elements in the titles, abstracts and claims. The tagger permits use of "in" and "out" phrases, which means that items can be set for inclusion or exclusion. This is an Excel add-in with a convenient menu of options designed to simplify patent data download, speed data cleaning and automate categorization. Imports Delphion CSV records, but other filters can be built as needed.
